The roof of Stoke rail station.

I'm Paul Forrester.

I'm a man who writes.

Welcome to

Since 2001 I've worked full time in the construction industry: a decade in architectural practice, followed by over five years working in the technical department of a product manufacturer.

Construction employs many people. The varying knowledge and confidence levels across all sectors is something that needs addressing if we aspire to a quality, comfortable and efficient built environment.

If you would like information about the training material that I've written for my employer and that we make available to the industry, please get in touch.

I'm also a food lover, cinema-goer, sometime traveller, and dog owner. Whether you're here to read about great independent cinemas, or you've stumbled across the site by accident, it's a pleasure to have your company.

In 2005 I was shortlisted for the Sir William Lyons award run by the Guild of Motoring Writers.

In 2009 I had a fleeting career as a motoring journalist, including publication in a classic car magazine.

In 2012 I got a pointless answer on a real televised episode of the BBC1 teatime quiz show Pointless.

In 2017 I reached the quarter finals of the Carcassonne UK National Championships.
