The Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) is focus of one of this month's articles in Insulate magazine

After reviewing ecobuild in issue 17 - and noting a lot of school groups in attendance, as well as several stands with confusing technical detail - this month I decided to look at whether building physics and performance would be a useful addition to the school curriculum.

April 1st saw the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) come into effect for certain domestic rental properties, so it seemed an appropriate time to reflect on whether the law will be enforced properly, and the potential knock-on effects if it isn’t.

The Insulate Network website also carries all the back issues of Insulate, meaning you can catch up with my other issue 17 articles: one looking at the language we use when talking about insulation, and another asking whether the traditional lunchtime CPD seminar is still doing the job that everybody needs it to do.
